Antonio Nocerino suspended for Red Bulls match

Italian midfielder Antonio Nocerino has been suspended for Orlando City’s upcoming road game against the New York Red Bulls.

Major League Soccer announced Nocerino was found in violation of the league’s “policy regarding entering [the] field of play.” In addition to a one-game suspension, Nocerino will also be fined an undisclosed amount.

Following Kevin Molino’s go-ahead goal over the New England Revolution Sunday, Nocerino re-entered the pitch to celebrate after being replaced by Servando Carrasco in the 90th minute. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The former A.C. Milan midfielder will miss City’s next match against the Red Bulls on Sunday at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and will broadcast on FS1.
