For the second consecutive game, it was Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux who led the Pride to victory.

And for the second time this season, the Orlando Pride were able to claim another win following Wednesday’s 2-1 result over the Portland Thorns at Exploria Stadium.

[Complete Box score]

Morgan, who scored her third goal in three games, opened the scoring in the 22nd when Taylor Kornieck played her a ball into the area, leaving Morgan to hit the bouncing volley past the goalkeeper to give Orlando the 1-0 lead.

The Thorns managed to breakeven when Simone Charley headed a ball from Natalia Kuikka past Ashlyn Harris to tie the match, 1-1, in the 42nd minute.

But the Pride managed to regain the lead seconds into the second half when Leroux pounced on a defensive miscue from the Thorns, striking from close to give Orlando the 2-1 lead.

The 2-1 lead they would not relinquish as the Pride, thanks to a late game defensive effort, held on to the scoreline to remain undefeated on the season.
