Duncan McGuire and Martin Ojeda found the net for Orlando City to put the Lions in driving position for three points but a late Jose Martinez goal for the Philadelphia Union saw Wednesday’s match between both sides finish in a 2-2 draw at Exploria Stadium.

McGuire scored in the 13th minute after finishing a play off a flick from Martin Ojeda.

Ojeda doubled the lead in the 54th minute after a strike from outside the box curled past goalkeeper Joe Bendik.

The Union scored moments later in the 60th after a Jack McGlynn cross bounced past goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar. Jose Martinez tied the game heading into the 90th minute after a badly cleared ball allowed the Venezuelan to hit the volley from outside the box and into the net.

Orlando had a third goal waived off by the VAR in the 88th minute after what appeared to show Ercan Kara extending his elbow, knocking down Martinez before going on a run that saw Ivan Angulo tap the ball into the net.

McGuire’s goal in the first half counts for six goals this season, leading all scores for Orlando City.

Orlando was without Facundo Torres (Uruguay), Wilder Cartagena (Peru), and Pedro Gallese (Peru), all of whom were with their respective national teams.

Mikey Halliday missed Wednesday’s match because of illness. Gaston Gonzalez returned to action after entering in the 80th minute.

Up next, the Lions travel to take on the Seattle Sounders on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at Lumen Field.
