MLS is Back Tournament: Orlando City’s Group A schedule revealed

Orlando City finally has a schedule for the upcoming MLS is Back Tournament.

First reported by The Athletic, the Lions will open up Major League Soccer’s return-to-play competition on July 8 against Inter Miami at 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.

All games will be played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex behind closed-doors.

On July 14, Orlando City take on New York City FC at 10:30 p.m. on TUDN (formally Univision Deportes). Orlando finishes its group stage matches on July 20 against expansion side Nashville SC at 9 a.m. on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.

All games will count toward the regular season standings with the champion of the tournament earning an automatic berth to the 2021 Concacaf Champions League.

According to the Athletic, MLS is changing the format of the tournament with the top three teams in Group A (Orlando’s group) advancing to the knockout stage, which is expected to kick off on July 25 with the Round of 16.

The final is slated for Aug. 11.

July 14
