Pierre Da Silva scored his first-ever professional goal and notched an assist as Orlando City B rallied to a 2-1 victory over the Charlotte Independence on Saturday night at Titan Soccer Complex in Melbourne.
“We started off well in the first five minutes. I was pleased to get the guys in at halftime because we could tweak a couple things and the response in the second half was outstanding,” OCB head coach Anthony Pulis said. “I’m really pleased with the win. We played some good stuff and defensively we were solid again. I’m just really proud of the guys’ effort and the way they performed tonight.”
Brian Brown gave the visitors the early lead after making a run at goal and striking the ball past goalkeeper Jake Fenlason in the 32nd minute.
But it was 17-year-old Da Silva who sparked OCB’s comeback in the second half.
The Orlando City academy product leveled the score in the 32nd minute after a strike from close range before assisting Craig Nitti with the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute off a free kick.
