The Orlando Pride won their first game of the season on Saturday night, defeating the San Diego Wave 3-1 at SnapDragon Stadium.

After conceding early to a Jaedyn Shaw goal, Mikayla Cluff scored the equalizer moments later in the 26th minute before Haley McCutcheon scored the go-ahead goal before halftime for the lead.

Adriana would secure the victory with a goal in the 69th minute.

“Obviously delighted with the win. It was a great team performance, from all the players, the intensity of in possession and out possession was terrific and to come to a place like this and come away with three points is really impressive,” said Pride coach Seb Hines. “We’ve been trusting in the players because we’ve had glimpses of what we can do in previous games, but today was probably the most complete performance we’ve put together. So I’m really happy for the players and all the staff to come away with three points.”

The Pride takes on Racing Louisville on Saturday at Exploria Stadium at 7 p.m.
