The 2022 U.S. Open Cup champions will begin their title defense on the road this year.

Orlando City will travel to take on Charlotte FC in the Round of 32 of the cup competition, it was announced on Thursday with the official date and time to be announced at a later time.

The Lions won the 2022 edition last September when they defeated USL Championship club Sacramento Republic 3-0 at Exploria Stadium to win their first trophy of the MLS era.
