Two stoppage-time goals from Gotham FC were enough to see them victorious over the Orlando Pride on Saturday.
Goals from Midge Purce and Lynn Williams secured a 2-0 win for the visitors over the Pride at Exploria Stadium, keeping Orlando winless to start the 2023 NWSL season.
“We were in it the whole way. And then you know, a call doesn’t go away, and it just changes the result. We had a lot of opportunities to score, we didn’t take them. That leaves Gotham a chance to win the game. So, you’ve got to take your opportunities when they present themselves. But yeah, same feeling after the game disappointed with the result, effort was great, as always. The players are really putting the effort in, just want the result to really feel like they’re rewarded for their effort.”
Up next, the Pride shifts to the NWSL Challenge Cup when they take on the North Carolina Courage on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Exploria Stadium.
