Following their late game heroics on Wednesday night in Nahsville, Orlando City returns home to face D.C United in a pivotal Eastern Conference clash. Just one point separate the two sides, but five spots in the standings also differentiate the two teams.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game at Exploria Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX35+ and LionNation TV.
“The expectations are always the same — trying to add three points that we’re looking for and that we need,” Orlando City Head Coach Oscar Pareja said. “We already know enough of this rival in [D.C. United] and they know us as well. I think the opportunity now to be in front of our fans is fantastic too after this long period of going away. We’re very optimistic.”
D.C United (12-4-11, 45 points) are coming off a 3-1 win over Minnesota United. The team comes into the month of October getting results in four out of their five games in September, pushing them all the way up the standings into third.
Orlando (10-9-8, 39 points) will get starting centerback Robin Jansson back from suspension, but will lose backup Rodrigo Schlegel due to yellow card accumulation. Andres Perea, who missed the midweek match, will be a game time decision.
Injuries: Both Chris Mueller and Joey DeZart will once again be game time decisions for the match while Alexandre Pato and Uri Rosell remain out with injuries.
