The Orlando Pride made several roster moves on Sunday ahead of the NWSL Challenge Cup, which is expected to kick off on June 27 in Utah.

The Pride announced the signings of 2020 NWSL College Draft picks: defenders Phoebe McClernon, Cheyenne Shorts, and midfielder Chelsee Washington. Goalkeeper Brittany Wilson — a non-roster invitee during preseason camp — also signed with the Pride.

All four players signed a short-term deal, the club announced.

“As our roster is finalized ahead of the NWSL Challenge Cup, a number of difficult decisions have been necessary to bring the Pride roster into compliance for the tournament,” Orlando Pride EVP Amanda Duffy said in a release. “This is a great opportunity for our 2020 NWSL College Draft picks to gain important professional minutes and make an immediate impact during this unique competition.”

Forward Abby Elinsky, midfielder Marisa Viggiano and defender Julie King — all second-year players with the Pride were allocated to the team’s supplemental roster.

The Pride also announced they waived two UCF alums midfielder Bridget Callahan and defender Carrie Lawrence, as well as goalkeeper Lainey Burdett from their supplemental roster.

“On behalf of the entire organization, I’d like to thank Bridget, Carrie, and Lainey for their contributions to the club over their respective tenures,” added Duffy. “We wish them all the best moving forward.”

Forward Alex Morgan and defender Morgan Reid were placed on the 45-Day disabled list.

The Pride returns to action on Saturday, June 27 when they take on the Chicago Red Stars in NWSL Challenge Cup at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.

Kickoff is at 10 p.m. ET and will stream live on CBS All Access and Twitch for international viewers.
