Orlando college soccer: UCF (M) fall two spots to No. 11; Rollins women rising up

The UCF Men’s Soccer Team fell two spots to No. 11 in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings released on Tuesday.

The Knights played to a 3-2 double-overtime win last weekend against Tulsa, which saw Gino Vivi’s golden goal get him AAC Rookie of the Week honors.

Scott Calabrese’s men remained as the No. 3 team in the nation for a second consecutive week in TopDrawer Soccer poll, also released on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Black and Gold polled at No. 4 during the first reveal of the men’s soccer RPI by the NCAA.

The Black and Gold ranked at No. 9 last week in the United Soccer Coaches poll. UCF’s best ranking in program history was on Nov. 6, 2018, when they polled at No. 7.

The Knights (8-1-2, 2-0-1 AAC) are currently on a 10-game unbeaten run heading into Sunday’s match against the UConn Huskies at Al-Marzook Athletic Field in Hartford at 7 p.m.


UCF women’s climbs up 

The UCF Women’s Soccer Team moved up two spots to No. 21 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches rankings, released on Tuesday.

The Knights received their first ranking of the season last week, polling at No. 23.

Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak’s team are currently 8-2-2 (3-1-0 AAC) this season and take on Temple on Thursday at the UCF Soccer Complex. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.


Tars on the rise 

Division II side Rollins Women’s Soccer Team jumped to No. 7 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll.

The Tars (8-2-0) were at No. 11 last week before climbing up four spots to break into the top 10.

Up next, Rollins takes on Embry-Riddle at Barker Family Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
