The Lions continue to add to their defensive depth.

Center back Robin Jansson signed with Orlando City from Swedish side AIK, the club announced on Tuesday.

“Robin is a guy that we’re excited to bring to Orlando after the success he has had overseas in Sweden,” Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi said in a statement. “This signing continues to build depth and competition within our group for the 2019 season.”

Jansson, pronounced Yahn-Son, started in 25 games for AIK last season in the Allsvenskan competition, Sweden’s highest tier of soccer.

The defender, 27, scored the game-winning goal to clinch the 2018 Allsvenskan league title for AIK.

He earned his first call-up for Sweden on Jan. 8 during a friendly against Finland.

The Swedish defender adds to Orlando City’s defensive depth, which now stands at 10 players.

Defenders: Carlos Ascues, Shane O’Neill, Lamine Sané, Kyle Smith, João Moutinho, Alex De John, Danilo Acosta, Kamal Miller, Ruan, Robin Jansson.
