Orlando Pride announces 2019 preseason roster

The Orlando Pride kicked off preseason Monday along with announcing the roster that will feature ahead of the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League season.

A total of seven players have no reported to preseason camp due to national team duties.

Forward Alex Morgan and goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris are currently with the United States women’s national team playing in the SheBelieves Cup. Chioma Ubogagu (England) and Marta (Brazil) are also playing in the annual tournament.

Australians Emily van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy are competing in the Cup of Nations while Shelina Zadorsky is with Canada playing in the Algarve Cup in Portugal.

Among the non-roster invitees, goalkeeper Lainey Burdett, defenders Alika Keene and Kim Reynolds. Midfielders Joanna Boyles and Bridget Callahan, who signed with the team last year as a national team replacement after playing four years with the UCF women’s soccer team.

College draft picks Erin Greening and Marisa Viggiano have also reported to camp.

It will be Marc Skinner’s first preseason camp after being announced the Pride’s new head coach. Carl Green was announced as his assistant last week while Lloyd Yaxley continues as goalkeeping coach.

The Pride opens the season at home on Sunday, April 14 when they welcome the Portland Thorns at Orlando City Stadium at 5 p.m. ET.
