An offseason roster turnover means a lot of guessing about how Orlando City plans to lineup when they open the season on Saturday afternoon against New York City FC.
With only a couple of glimpses into James O’Connor’s master plan, we don’t have much to go on, however, with the limited media availability we were able to get, these were some of the ideas we were able to garner.
Questions still remain over Nani and Dom Dwyer’s status for Saturday — both, however, are expected to be available.
Without anymore more rambling, here’s the Orlando Soccer Journal staff predicted starting lineups for this weekend’s season opener.
Gavin’s Projected XI:
5-3-2: Brian Rowe; Danilo Acosta, Lamine Sané, Alex De John, Shane O’Neill, Ruan; Sebastián Méndez, Uri Rosell, Sacha Kljestan; Nani, Dom Dwyer.
Mike Gramajo’s Projected XI:
4-2-3-1: Brian Rowe, Danny Acosta, Alex De John, Shane O’Neill, Kyle Smith; Sebastián Méndez, Uri Rosell; Sacha Kljestan (c), Chris Mueller, Nani; Dom Dwyer.
Austin David’s Projected XI:
3-5-2: Greg Ranjitsingh; Lamine Sané, Alex De John, Shane O’Neill; Danilo Acosta, Sebastián Méndez, Sacha Kljestan, Uri Rosell, Kyle Smith; Chris Mueller, Dom Dwyer.
