Orlando City vs Toronto MS 20180714

Orlando City’s nine-game losing streak is a thing of the past.

Goals from Chris Schuler and Dom Dwyer lifted the Lions to their first win in league play in two months, defeating a struggling Toronto FC 2-1 Saturday night in front of an announced crowd of 23,420 at Orlando City Stadium.

Schuler scored his first goal in purple in the 34th minute after a shot produced by Dwyer deflected off Toronto goalkeeper Alex Bono, finding Schuler to head the rebound into the net for the early lead.

Dwyer doubled the lead in the 48th minute after a ball from Chris Mueller found the striker, who struck from long range to double the lead and record his eighth goal of the season.

Toronto struck late to pull one back in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time when a free kick produced by Sebastian Giovinco found Nick Hagglund to tuck the ball past Edwards.

It was Orlando’s first win since May 6 when they beat Real Salt Lake 3-1 at home.

It was James O’Connor’s first win since being named Orlando’s new head coach last month.
