A stoppage-time goal from Hector Villalba salvaged Atlanta United 1-1 draw Saturday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
The Argentine struck in the 92n minute of stoppage time after a through-ball pass from Yamil Asad connected with Villalba to slotted the ball past goalkeeper Joe Bendik, cancelling out Ricardo Kaka’s goal for Orlando City in the 40th minute.
It was Villalba’s 10th goal of the season for Atlanta, and his second goal in two games against Orlando City after striking the game winner during last week’s 1-0 win at Orlando City Stadium.
Dom Dwyer, who made his official debut for the Lions, played 72 minutes before Carlos Rivas substituted in for him.
Atlanta outshot Orlando 17-10. The Lions only had one shot on target whereas Atlanta tallied six shots on target while holding 64 percent possession.
