Former Orlando City starlet Dom Dwyer scores in USMNT debut

Former Orlando City player Dom Dwyer scored in his debut match for the United States men’s national team during a 2-1 win against Ghana last Saturday at Rentschler Stadium field.

The Sporting Kansas City forward opened his goal account for the Yanks in the 19th minute after hitting a volley from close range past the goalkeeper to open the scoring against the Black Stars.

Dwyer, who spent the 2013 USL season on loan at Orlando City, scored 15 goals in 13 appearances for the Lions, including a four-goal performance during the 2013 USL championship game against the Charlotte Eagles in which Orlando City won 7-4.
