The Lions now have an indication on who they’ll face in the fourth round of the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Orlando City will face the winner of the Miami FC, Tampa Bay Rowdies game, which will kickoff on Wednesday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m. during third round action of the Open Cup.
The Lions would welcome the winner of that third-round matchup at Orlando City Stadium on June 13 or 14. An official date and time will be announced shortly.
Miami is currently off to its best start in its short history in the NASL, sitting atop the league standings with 14 points, two points clear from second place with seven games played thus far in the spring season.
Meanwhile, the Rowdies sit in second place in the USL Eastern Conference standings with 17 points with nine games played.
Former NASL side Fort Lauderdale Strikers defeated Orlando City 2-1 in extra-time during last year’s Open Cup competition at Camping World Stadium.
