Orlando Pride acquires Chioma Ubogagu from Houston Dash

The Orlando Pride has had a busy week if not a busy month.

And on Monday, the Pride announced it acquired forward Chioma Ubogagu from the Houston Dash in exchange for the club’s third-round pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft.

“Chioma is a mobile, skilled player that has tremendous potential and possesses qualities that will be a big asset to our team,” Pride coach Tom Sermanni said in a statement. “With a history of success at Stanford and at the U23 level, we’re happy to add another forward with a nose for the goal.”

Monday’s announcement marks a busy week for the club. Tom Sermanni’s team announced last Thursday it traded midfielder Sam Witteman to the North Carolina Courage in exchange for defender Alanna Kennedy.

Last Wednesday, the Pride traded their first-and fourth-round picks in the 2018 NWSL College Draft to the Portland Thorns for forward Rachel Hill of the University of Connecticut.

The Pride also selected from the 2017 NWSL College Draft forward Danica Evans (No. 22 overall) from the University of Colorado and midfielder Nickolette Driesse ( No. 32 overall) from Penn State University on Jan. 12.
