The Orlando Pride completed their roster with the signing of Leah Fortune, the club announced Tuesday.
Fortune, 25, has experience on both the youth and senior Brazilian national teams. From 2006 to 2009, she scored five goals in 37 appearances for the U-18 team. She went on to record eight goals in 19 appearances for the U-20 team. Fortune has made six appearances for the senior team.
Before joining the Pride, Fortune played for the Charlotte Lady Eagles of the United Soccer League’s W-League in 2015. With Charlotte, she recorded 13 goals and recorded seven assists in 2015.
Per the release from the Pride, Fortune is a dual citizen (U.S. and Brazil) and will therefore not occupy an international slot.
