LAKE MARY — It began with an idea, which gradually turned into a reality.
And on Thursday during the team’s media day, the Orlando Pride unveiled its final piece of its long-searched identity: their home and away uniforms designed by Nike.
The home jersey is mostly purple with baby blue swoops on the sleeves. Orlando Health, the kit sponsor, is plastered on the center of the jersey with the Pride logo in the top left of the jersey. Purple shorts and socks finish the home uniform.
“The kits are awesome,” Pride midfielder Becky Edwards said. “It’s pretty cool that we get to wear purple. I think that’s a huge brand. When you see purple in Orlando, you think Orlando City, Orlando Pride. So, well done on our organization on that part. The purple is awesome.”
The away jersey, however, is slightly different. The uniform has a dash of baby blue running down the middle of the jersey, with a touch of purple running down the sides.
Fans can purchase kits by visiting United World Soccer stores located at the Florida Mall and Disney Springs.
